It's the people behind the scenes that really make things happen, and that's why each month we interview one of our best employees here at 3dcart— so you can get to know the folks who keep things ticking. For this month's Employee Spotlight, we spoke with Doralis Mesa, Design Project Manager and 3dcart team member since July 2013.

What are your duties at 3dcart?

As a project manager I do quite a bit; from conference calls with the client and the designers/developer assigned to ensure everything in the contract is covered to overseeing that all projects are running right on track. I focus on communicating effectively with the client as well as the rest of the team and advising of any issues that may arise. I also QA the websites to make sure not only are they aesthetically pleasing and professional but also customer friendly and that all pages are fully functional. All in all my clients MUST be happy with the work 3dcart has done, or I am not happy.

How did you get into the field and arrive at your current position?

I have always loved to help others so my customer service skills helped along with my creativity and curiosity to always try new things.

What do you find most challenging about your job here?

Not challenging at all! I love doing different tasks to save myself from getting bored, and at 3dcart they have allowed me to do so.

What's your favorite thing about 3dcart?

We are a diverse group of talented people and have learned so much from each other.

Who is/are your favorite 3dcart client(s)?

Aah the favorites... Vincent from austindynamicx.com and many others; really I love all my clients and appreciate their praises.

How do you personally apply 3dcart's Core Values (Results Oriented, Reliable, Customer Focused, and Responsive)?

Our clients rely on us since this is their business; their bread and butter in our hands so we must always be customer focused. When they have a problem we must be responsive, attentive to details and not add more to their frustration but show results!

What piece of advice would you offer a brand new online store owner?

Don't be afraid to make mistakes but definitely get involved in learning new things. It's not just a cart to collect your payments; this is your money maker; the online face of your company and your advertising platform. Use it to its best ability; sign up for webinars, watch helpful videos and ask lots of questions we are here to help you as a TEAM and want you to be SUCCESSFUL.

What gets you through a rough day?

Music and laughter amongst my peers helps me release some tension. It cannot all be so serious all the time.

What are you most proud of, both in and outside of your career?

I am most proud of my daughter Katherine for graduating high school next month and going off to college with such enthusiasm. She sees me working hard; 2 jobs (yes I have a shopping cart of my own) knows how I compromise all my time and show best efforts to provide a better future for her. She wants to be an entrepreneur just like her mommy!

How do you unwind after work?

Food and wine and walks along the beach are it for me; I am very lucky to live only 15 minutes away from the sea.

How do you spend your off time? Hobbies and interests?

Eating dancing and photography... but mostly eating haha! I enjoy food blogging; trying new places and rating their level of service cleanliness and unique taste. I do love photography so I take pictures of all these places I visit and share it publicly for others to enjoy & comment.

Where are you from?

Long ago I was born in Havana, Cuba and I am also of Jamaican descent. Although I am heavily involved in both of my homelands' cultural lifestyles I have lived in Florida for over 25 years so I am most known as a Floridian gal with a pinch of Sazon Goya and a sprinkle of curry sauce.

Do you have a personal philosophy, motto, or favorite quote?

"You no trouble. Me... Fifth element... supreme being. Me protect you. Hmm? Sleep."

What's the weirdest or funniest thing you've ever seen or had happen to you?

Weird hmm besides being referenced as Dora the Explorer all the time I am a happy normal unicorn.

What is your dream vacation?

Anywhere that is not Florida; I've been stuck here in the vortex for so long!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I actually love living in Florida, I just really want to own a big enough house with a half acre of patio for my pets and future plants & veggies I dream of planting. I'd like to invite friends and family over for BBQ or dominoes; that would be awesome!

If you could have any super power, what would you choose?

The power to read minds! Whahaha... no really it would save a lot of time knowing exactly what others think & expect of me.

Is there anything you'd like to add?

That's all folks! ;)
